The United MSD Foundation provides support and resources to medical professionals and the medical/scientific research community in a number of ways, including:
Research Funding
Since inception, we have contributed more than $1 million in direct research support and have participated in projects and processes leading to several million more. We continue to support promising new research projects each year and are currently developing a research strategy roadmap for the next several years.
MSD Literature
We have developed a number of educational resources for medical professionals, including critical care guidelines and a patient resource guide for MSD patients. These resources are designed to help medical professionals better diagnose and care for MSD patients. Additionally, we continue to monitor the needs for our literature in other languages and have translated some materials into Arabic, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Access to Patient Data & Samples
The United MSD Foundation maintains a patient registry and biobank. These projects collect critical data and samples from MSD patients and families around the world. This data and samples are made available to researchers, helping them better understand MSD—including its properties and progression—and make decisions toward developing new treatments and diagnostic tools.
Networking Opportunities
The United MSD Foundation offers a number of opportunities each year that bring together medical and scientific communities working on MSD. These events provide opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing of information.
